Membership and Subscriptions

Membership

There are three categories of member:

(a) Full Members

(b) Consultative Members

(c) Supporting (individual) Members

Full and consultative membership are for humanist organisations; supporting members are individuals. Only full members have a vote. For details see Article 5 of the Bylaws.

Members are required to accept the IHEU Minimum Definition of Humanism:

"Humanism is a democratic and ethical life stance, which affirms that human beings have the right and responsibility to give meaning and shape to their own lives. It stands for the building of a more humane society through an ethic based on human and other natural values in the spirit of reason and free inquiry through human capabilities. It is not theistic, and it does not accept supernatural views of reality."

To apply for membership, download the appropriate form and submit it to the EHF. To be admitted as a member, organisations must be accepted by the General Assembly, individuals by the Board.

Subscriptions

There are five levels of annual subscription for Full Members:-

€3,700

€2,000

€1,000

€500

€250

Member organisations are asked to pay the most appropriate level of subscription, having regard to their own budgets and to the number of members they have (directly or indirectly through affiliated organisations that are not themselves members).

Consultative Members pay €100 a year.

Supporting (individual) Members pay €25 a year - newly reduced subscription!
