EHF Activities

This large section of our website starts with our work with the European institutions and other external agencies. We take the different agencies (the European Union and its component parts, the Council of Europe, the OSCE, national governments etc) in turn.
Next we report on our other activities (conferences etc)
in much the same way.
Where appropriate, our work is reported in reverse chronological order - most recent first.

EHF and the European Institutions

Our main activity is to represent humanist and secularist interests at a European level - especially in the European Union, the European Parliament’s Working Party on Separation of Religion and Politics, and the OSCE - see the links below for details. To this end we inform and consult our member organisations about relevant topics and have agreed policy positions based on a humanist point of view on matters such as the human rights, ethics, development co-operation, liberties, democratic principles, citizenship or separation between Church and State - for these see EHF Policy.

Other EHF interventions

The EHF makes representations to governments and other institutions as necessary, both within Europe and further abroad.

Conferences

We have held many conferences on topics of interest - reports and some papers from past conferences are available here.

We also collaborate with other organisations to run joint campaigns or conferences

and we run a lunch club in Brussels for ‘Eurocrats’.
